Have never been, but it calls. Oh how it calls. Love poems of place and this is no exception, Susan. A wonderful respite. Greens and wild things are a part of you, it's so clear in this write. They don't call 'em the Smokey Mountains for nothing as I can see in this beautiful pic. Thank you so much for sharing it!

I felt like I was standing in the trees watching the activity. I love nature and I love the expressions of talented writers, such as yourself ;) who can paint a landscape so vividly that the reader can't help but to get lost in the surroundings.

Now you are in my neck of the woods, Susan. Gosh I an reminded of monthly picnics there as a child...It has changed..traffic is unreal...just glad I had a chance to ford the streams ans witness the abandoned cabins...even pet the sorghum grinding mules and tast the corn bread before it became the place to be in the Smokies. Still, however, definitely worth the trip!

This was just . . . Good. I admit to not being a "fanatical" nature lover, but I love a beautiful view probably as well as does anyone. I am partial to animals of almost any species and rage when I see them abused; we have humans to abuse, leave the damn animals alone. Beautiful, vibrant and image-vivid poetry.

OUTSTANDING Susan this one is nature write in it's top form. Beautiful I can see the bear and her cubs as vividly as if I were standing on the river bank myself.
