riding into a warm night
the sunroof opened to air
wysteria smells afloating
lightening bugs everywhere
rebel jasmine blooming
cherry blossoms afloat
flung along by a swift breeze
from some storm still remote
the moon a crest upon heavens
stars too many to count
free as a bird on this highway
as springtime virtues amount
it's a pleasure to breath in this beauty
the South so pretty and proud
my heart sings visions of Dixie
in a voice sopranoed and loud
cresting a hill out of heaven
surrounded by God's own display
toward midnight her shine is around me
breaking her into a new day.
The midnight ride of a rebel bride. Blondes have more fun at night with the top down.[Oops]

'Take me home, country roads' beautiful poem...thanks for the sensory experience of this offering. I will save this one so I can take this drive with you again and again whenever I need the getaway.
A stunning composition reflecting the reach of your spirit. We are all travelers, some even nomads in spacetime. We like to believe that we know where we're heading, but only few actually do. Countless pathways lead to one destiny. We are driven by what our perception and imagination is capable of containing. With that we draw our maps, changing them continuously. In spite of meteculous precaution we are lost still more often than we care to know. But it matters not which road we take, what we do or experience along the way, we will arrive at where we are destined to arrive when time is due. Along the way every once and a while beauty as expressed in this poem we encounter, taking away our worries of how to get there, replacing it by unshaking conviction that we will reach what we are determined to reach.
How great is this, such beautiful imagery! Your love of the south is evident in all of your works as it deserves to be. Thanks for sharing your joy with us! Stunning photo!
Susan-was this picture made on the Ficking Farm? This should be a Cherry Blossom Print. Nothing like Dixie. I never open the sunroof. Need to do that some.
Exceptionally moving write that shows how much depth of feeling you have for your home. It sounds wonderful and actually stirs feelings of my own home here in Nova Scotia so perhaps it is time for me to write one about her. Thanks Susan.
