Poem Artwork

the numbers lead the front page...
screams of hollow eyes
drawn up is their hunger
deep in blazing skies
devastated homelands
history going...gone
new age of destiny
shrunk in human form
babies with no parents
bellies protrude...lack
war in all her glory
futures turning black
man has made another mark
playing with his toys
taking all the beauty
making men of boys
creating wife's to widows
giving parents...mourn
ripped into oblivion
hearts forever torn
shapes of peace in circles
freezbies of despair
biding time for answers
as wishes turn to tears

The sadness of war in a nutshell. No glory, only pain. Let's keep pointing it out until they listen.

It's so sad that we've allways known war, It's even sadder that so many of us still think that it's necessary. Vivid writing about an important subject that we all need to deal with. Pierre.

These lines bear such able witness to the great horror of our times. They bleed and scream with soul-filled outrage and yet, for all that, their very nobility reclaims the essential beauty that seems to disappear more and more every day before our eyes. A tremendously relevant and prfoundly powerful write.

agoningly beautiful in the pain it causes my heart to read this. To see the peace symbol of our own teenage generatin then read your words flashes me back to another time when young men died seemingly for nothing. Well said dear friend.

You've grasped the harsh realities of war...and even the tears cries in midnight silence. You have such amazing versatility Susan.

Vivid so very vivid. It is time for mankind too mature. Use reason, not bombs. Brains, not Bullets....

Perhaps i'm tired but i just couldn't stop the tears from flowing as I read this susan! your fantastic ability to craft words that impact the reader is a fine gift.I hate war,yet I can't ever remember being without one somewhere on this planet. Now with tv it's almost as if we become a part of it and I'm growing so damned tired of feeling the drain of my spirit, knowing this will be a long one...

You paint the stark tragedies and realities of War..
There will always be casualties in a War..
It is a fact of life
