Yes... soft as a sweet kiss and as delicate as a feather...e-a-s-y rain!

Poem Artwork

I heard the sound of e_a_s_y
Raindrops as they fell
In liquid kisses... gentle
This tender nature's bell
There's something so extravagant
In simple drops of rain
Erasing stressful tightness
In a world half gone insane
It sets our pace to e-a-s-y
Then comforts TIME just when
The news screams out with ugly
Dismembered frames of pain
Rain is nature's way of a massage
For the times when life gets bold
When some are scared and hungry
Some orphaned and sleep cold
Rain is nature's kind caress
Her kiss to let us know
No matter what's uncomfortable
For the moment let it go!

Soft rain Georgia needs. If a poem could call it up.

You write like an easy southern summer afternoon, but never rambling! Good verse for "A Rainy Night in Georgia" or even my Florida. I used to enjoy hearing harder rains too on nights in DeLand, playing my piano or smoking a cigar on the porch, as the rooftop jittered; now I am getting too deaf for the sound of light rain. Rainy season almost over here in the Ocala Forest where i live now. I'll be reading some more soon.

Nice one, but now you can suffer like me, with this going through your mind too....

Just walking in the rain

Getting soaking wet

Torturing my heart

By trying to forget

Just walking in the rain

So alone and blue

All because my heart

Still remembers you

People come to windows

They always stare at me

Shaking their heads in sorrow

Saying, who can that fool be

Just walking in the rain

Thinking how we met

Knowing things could change

Somehow I can't forget

I love walking in the e-a-s-y rain. It is refreshing and the world looks much brighter. Your poem is a gentle reminder of the good things in life, if we but slow down.

This is so good. You started out by quoting one of my all-time favorite nuts, Roger Miller . . . Great guy who didn't take life all that seriously . . . The contents of this "easy" poem is a message for all mankind if we but look, read and heed . . . Hell of a write . . .

and as I looked down at her...in all her naked beuty, I felt the magic caress of raindrops on bare skin and as I immersed myself in the depths of her passion the rain cleansed the sins of our past...

Not sure where that came from except your beutiful verse triggered that response...lovely poem dear Susan.

Beautifully written Susan. I love a rainy night and hearing the sound reverberating off the roof. A peaceful way to fall off to sleep.

I welcome the rain and I miss it. It is so soothing just to stand in it and be cleansed of everything, even if just for the moment.

You've expressed it perfectly
To me, there's nothing more calming
Makes me sleepy just thinking about it.
