Poem Artwork

Its a nature call ... emotions speak ... I'll rerun these happy times
When nature whispered in my ear and echoed a winsome rhyme
The tease of sunny streaks of bronze from tangerine arrays
The squint of tightly wrinkled eyes that shut out piercing rays
When big old sun greets tidal creeks with a soothing kiss
Then gently tickles fuzzy balls with a blooming bright caress
Her voice opens hungry mouths and melody begins
When symphony of morning light opens up the fen
Life begins anew each day for marshes and their crews
The long-necked Egret searching creeks for her nestlings' food
The running in and out of reeds as the Marsh Hen scurries back
Then forth to check for salty bugs or clicking fiddler crabs
The constant rock of a dock as a wake comes from the blue
Canoing comes a sailor checking out this too
Not a cloud for me today this one is a special "10"
No matter what a day can bring its special in the fen
The chaos of an outside world seems so far away
When otters, ducks and shrimp that hop take my breath away
I feel so blessed to have the joy...the simple things in life
When others complicate their day with ordinary strife
I have that too but when I'm home the stress is lifted here
Where life is subtle but designed with complicated tears
The outside world of greed and money is taking yet its toll
When money speaks and others want to overtake these folds
This wonder of a wetland ... the beauty of each day
The foodchain thats endangered when silent voices pay
Its nature's wonderous canvas...this one of dangered growth
Where civilized minds keep paper trailing natures undergrowth
The red ink comes and swallows up low country soft wet lands
But who loses here is natures life as we look by and stand
Quietly won't get it ... shaking heads leave moans
Nothing seems to matter when nature has no home.

A wise poetic task duly accomplished... On this National Poetry Month "Ode to Mother Earth" sings glory to Mother Poet and enriches the pages of Poetry; while it rings the bells of JUSTICE and sends a message to the suicidal human being.

Thank You for sharing this priceless alexandrite set with flawless brilliant cut diamond.

In respect,

Andre Emmanuel Bendavi ben-YEHU

SUBLIME!!!! Your fount of knowledge is most wonderful, Susan, and adds richness and depth to the earth-moving sentiments of your passionate writes. I am still struggling to get beyond "tree" or "bird" when it comes to descriptors... all the knowledge I thought I had seems to have evaporated with the fading of my grey matter, aided and abetted by illnesses, is my excuse (feeble though it is!) And the idea of Nature having no home makes what's happening globally loom really stark. So sensitive and deeply reverential is this write. Your commitment to the planet, our home, is clear. Bless you, Kate xx

Nothing seems to matter when nature has no home.

How so sadly true, Susan, and what a marvelous poem and picture! We must all start speaking up and demanding that these truly precious, life-enhancing wetlands be saved.

Wonderful pondering on nature and how it will disappear if we don't stop all the abuse of it.

Now that's a call to action that everyone should heed
To come to the aid of nature in it's hour of need.
Such a beautiful and eloquent plea.

This is powerfully penned, Susan, a reminder to take care of what God gave us - His creation, His creatures. Is it too late? I pray not - a loving tribute to what once was, what can be again if we all do our part to preserve what's left - well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
