Its boiling here in the south. Compound this with rising humidity and to keep cool is a chore.

I dug up this poem and after reading it felt much cooler. Here's sharing a cool poem for a hot day.

The storm came from the northwest
It blew in with a front
It captured me as I drove
I caught most of the brunt
The sleet it came round Macon
It caused my eyes to laugh
I couldn't quite grasp the scene
I dropped the wheel to clap
My word what a phenomenon
I thought for just a while
When it continued to come down
I smiled and smiled and smiled
It followed me to Statesboro
And then the ground was white
Just like a dust of talcum powder
Upon the ground tonight
I made it to Savannah
What joy to see the homes
With snow that formed in minutes
I stopped my chance to roam
I sat real still in silence
I rubbed my eyes for true
Depth to all that happened here
From skies turned gray from blue
The squares all wet and frosted
Like a fancy southern treat
By Gosh it snowed in Dixie
Like a powdered sugar treat
I started back up again
Then drove out to the marsh
It seemed just like a blizzard then
The chill was more than harsh
It was a sight worth grasping
My memory was cleared
I caught a frame of heaven then
I even choked a tear
The vastness of the reeds and creeks
Was being stroked with white
The Master here was painting
Oh what a Holy sight
Tis said it was our Mother
The woman of all strength
It was her perogative
To show her strength at length
What a grand treasure then
My eyes with creatures gawked
The wings of a mystery
And the flash of a RedTailed Hawk
She was creating contrast
With red feathers as her brush
The sable of this Goddess
In silent winter's...hush
Silence is respect just now
As dappled white creeks drift
The Mother signed her canvas then
With a flourished Red Tailed gift
Again I have a front row seat
The pleasure of a chance
To watch agog at a power play
When our Mother came to dance
With phosphorous of a winded kiss
She came blowing from the west
To give a difference to the south
White kisses and a cool caress.
