Living in New York City in the 80's ---------------------------------------
A walk through New York during the Christmas season People showing absolute energy as they hurry around the streets All Christmas shopping for their loved ones The big apple is festive People of all colors and religions too A holiday fitting the Lord on his birthday Walking along Madison Avenue browsing all of the shops Proceeding one block west to fifth avenue 60th street and fifth a true mecca The Metropolitan Club The Hotel Pierre bustling with vacationers Across the street hot dog vendors selling their "dirty water franks" One block south the Plaza Hotel lit up with holiday lights New cars on display in the General Motors building If toys are on the shopping list FAO Schwartz is right there When finished a taxi or subway to take you home Some go to Brooklyn others to The Bronx Still others to various parts of the great metropolis Everyone has smiles Everybody loving the holiday season It happens just once a year The celebration of the birth of The Greatest Man of all time JESUS CHRIST Tony Mike Nerone 12-07-09

AMEN...SOMETHING ABOUT THE 'TIDE' OF CHRISTMAS...IT MAKES THE UNIVERSE 'ONE'. AND EVEN IS FOR JUST A FEW HOURS...THIS IS A VERY GOOD THING. I LOVE CHRISTMAS PRIMARILY FOR THESE TWO REASONS; THE CELEBRATION OF THE BIRTH OF GOD'S SON - HE'S OUR REDEEMER AND HIS LOVE AND PEACE FLOWS THROUGH THE AIR TOUCHING KINDRED HEARTS AND MINDS ALL OVER THE WORLD. Great descriptions, I love Manhattan at Christmas though it is too hard on me physically with the chronic pain I have to make the trip-so thanks for bringing the city to me with your vibrant words.
