Second book is off to the publisher, it's a fictional story, they refused to publish my book of verse said they were sorry. I felt like a monkey then, I feel like a monkey now, if I get refused again, I'll go completely ape,
King Kong that is. Guess I'll find a tall building to climb. Couldn't be much worse than this writing dilemma.

I saw others writing
figured it was exciting
I was right
now I do it day and night
quite a bit on this AD site
My writing was pretty bad
kept on doing it
now I'm glad

Took a first second
and third look
figured I could also
write a book
One banana
two banana
three banana four
a monkey wrench came
flying through the door

I'm a big gorilla
treated the wrench like a thriller
Everyone thought
I was bananas
At first I did too
but I still carry this
monkey business through

I like this poem, sorry they rejected you, but you can try again and maybe another company will print your poems. Rejection is not necessarily failure, I am sure you realize that too.

Be you, do your own thing, you will be appreciated for who you are and what you write. Never compare yourself to others Grady. All the best with the new book.

The Wholly Book of Genesis by Jay Dubya

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
