It was cold and the snow was falling,
turkey could hear the hunters calling.
With one of his wings gone,
turkey was ground prone.
He was surely doomed to become a meal,
but his strong heart and soul fought the deal.
Turkey found this small cave to hide,
so he scrambled fast to get inside.
Nestled all warm and dry,
turkey watched as the hunters feet went by.
Turkey started praying his turkey prayer,
hoping that his turkey God was there.
All of sudden the little cave started to glow,
it got so bright it melted the outside snow.
The turkey God spoke loud and clear,
"you're a turkey and Thanksgiving is here!
Turkey screamed, "I don't want to end up in a pan,
I want to live as long as I can!"
The turkey God understood his demand,
and helped turkey make a plan!
First he gave him another wing,
then he christened turkey a king.
He admired turkeys courage,
then gave him some magic for storage.
With a flash of light and a wisp of sound,
the turkey God returned heaven bound.
Turkey was a sight to see,
strong muscular and full of glee,
he flew right up in the top of a tree.
Right at that same instant,
a hunters arrow flew from a distant.
As the arrow closed in,
turnkeys magic started to begin.
The arrow instantly became a boomerang,
returning to exactly where it came.
The arrow hit the hunter right in his heart,
then the rest of the hunters did depart.
They dropped everthing in hand,
as they retreated from turkey land.
With no turkeys to eat,
Chicken and cows
became the meat.
Thanksgiving without turkey,
surely wasn't happy,
for the hunters it was
kind of crappy.
Turkey ruled,
the hunters
drooled.
