To a beloved friend

When winds of fear blow
You are a shelter of love
Built in the alleys of love
To protect the life of love

Over the desert of despair
You are a spring of hope
Supplying waters of hope
To hearts lacking hope

In the shadows of war
You are a torch of peace
Punching holes of light
In the depths of light

In the forest of loneliness
You are a pathway of joy
Showing the way forward
To souls lost inside loss
