Dear Iraqi journalist
Why attack with a shoe
When you have a pen?
Is writing not a weapon itself?
Is it not a proper outlet
to address your feelings?
Has your pen ran dry?
Or you ran short of words
What can I learn from your action?
Suppression of freedom of expression?
Tumbling justice? Lack of freedom
Growing hatred against the Americans?

yeah your right lol i guess he was just really angry... poor guy as bad as it was i actually understand his anger Bush is a cruel man i think if i saw him my self i would throw the nearest object weather it was my shoes or a table watever lol
Incisive write. I understand it is a cultural way of showing digust and abhorrence for the person targeted, but you are right, he should have used a pen instead. Fortunately, it wasn't a grenade or a set of false teeth(LOL).
Abdi-Noor, only those who have suffered could understand. This man had suffered so much; kidnapped, tortured, losing family in the war and terror that followed. I agree he could have expressed himself peacefully, but President Bush and his secretary of defence, Donald Rumsfeld failed as leaders. I feel no pleasure over the shoes, but I feel no contempt for that man.
God lead us all to see past the pain and despair to make this world something better than it has been; to something it could be.
Your words are so profound. I found it interesting with all the Secret Service and police force that this ignorant journalist had the will, means and time to throw both shoes. Is it possible it was staged as many things are....
Excellent Abdi Noor! I understand it is an Iraqi custom of disrespect for the person or nation etc. It's too complex to go into ,but I think it's sad since they have seen much improvement in Iraq, and perhaps there could be some good come out of all the horror in time, if we all could help each other to go forward

That guy had no brains, as do the ones who follow terrorism or support it. There are better, more meaningful, ways to express yourself. Shame! I am glad you know better; the pen can make a formidable weapon! Well done!

I was shaking my head at the video ... there are better ways to show displeasure. You're right when you said the pen makes an effective weapon. Words are powerful things.
