The Cedar the Maiden and the Horn

Flickering crystals dancing the breeze,

Circle the oaks and all living things,

Tall wooded meadow,-

A tale from a book,

In love she is running along side a brook.

Her whispering shouts echo his name,-

"The snow has melted and the sun dried the rain."

A voice strong as cedar, - young and free,

Whispering back, - "I'm at the old Tree-"

Eyes (wise with age), watched as they found,

A place they call secret, where love knows no bounds.

The promise of innocence cover this place, -

Their faces of beauty in gold sprinkled glaze.

They knew in their hearts that protection was frail,

That below there was darkness after the grail!

Careful they be in this place known as grace,

For the pool know as "Sacred' where the unicorns race,

Was there for a sign that the kingdom was safe,

As long as the Horn stayed in its place!

Rushing the gate at the furthest side east,

The beast found a weakness and planned a great feast!

To poison the mind by speaking sweet lies,

Planting division as a snake in disguise;

He doesn’t fight or your heart -  try to win!

It is you fair Maiden that runs swift to him!

Slithering fast near the Cedar and vine, -

She is too lovely to vow to be thine!

Cutting the cord where two hearts once were tied,

A chill in the forest to cut and divide!

Down at the pool where the unicorns race,

The waters now still, skies darken their face!

A thief, one wicked, though wise to the rule,

Stole the Great Horn at the once sacred pool;

Gate of ivory now iron were cast,

Blankets of darkness completing the mass,

Covered the meadow and blackened the brook,

The old tree called Wise, cried as he shook:

No fair maiden, no sun in the sky,

Just reaching with fear for a place they can hide;

When I look in your eyes I don't see the brave,

I only see sadness and strength that does fade.

Stand to your feet and remember your name,

A curse and a veil were put there for shame!

Look in your heart and lift up your neck,

Follow the path where the moonlight reflects,

For there a fair maiden is frozen inside,

Near my great tree that you both know as Wise.

Whisper her name to melt the cold heart,

And light will reverse so darkness departs!

In love she is running along side a brook,

Whispering shouts echo his name, -

“The Cedar as strong as the Horn that remains!"
