VOLUNTEER WORK
(another example of brain damage?)
Thinking that being a volunteer
would be a rewarding way to spend each day,
I ran and was elected
to our Condo Board, at no pay.
Now I can be involved
in all the policy setting.
I'm sure I can make decisions
that no resident will be regretting.
My phone rang with my first call.
It seems there was an extreme emergency.
Mr. Jones had parked in the wrong space.
And this is a MAJOR violation, don't you see?
Other concerns are just as important.
Mrs. Smith has brand new shrubs.
Mrs. King has to look at her old ones
and feels positively that she's been snubbed.
Mr. Fisher has guests for the week-end.
The complaint came 5 minutes after they arrive.
What was I thinking when I volunteered?
I'm beginning to wonder if I'll actually survive.
The joys of living in a 55+ community
may be too numerous to count.
But being on the Board of Directors is not a joy,
of this I'm thoroughly qualified to vouch.
So each day brings a new challenge.
There's always good news or bad to deliver.
Should I decide to volunteer again,
Take my temperature and make sure there's no fever.

You see these communities & I favor them completely
but....I smile reading this as I had no idea they
had such nit pickers :)
I realize it is not funny for you at all :(
But the visuals you give here of them are like a cat chasing its tail
I Hope You Find Everyones Happy Medium!
