As the little country preacher began to speak about God’s word
His face told us a story that our hearts had never heard

The spirit of God was inside of this place
As the little country preacher took over the space

He brought to us a message sent down from God above
He preached about God’s mercy, His compassion and His love

The little country preacher called us to the alter to pray
He asked if anyone lost was in God’s house today

The little country preacher led everyone in prayer
He was no more than half way through and not a dry eye was there

From the very last row in the church house that day
The little country preacher heard someone rise and head his way

The young man knelt beside him and whispered in his ear
The little country preacher rose to his feet and yelled “God Is Here!”

The young man told the preacher that God had saved his soul
And the little country preacher said, “God has made you whole”

As the tears flowed from their eyes the country preacher began to say
“God has filled us all with love His presence lives today”

The people in the church that day felt what God had done
Fore each and every one of them knew that God had won

The little country preacher speaks God’s word to all
He knows that their eternal life is something none to small

The little country preacher lives inside all our hearts
He makes life here more bearable before we must depart.

This was inspired by my mom who asked me to write something for the preacher at our church.
