We live in memories long after our bodies fade away.

The thumping drum
no longer hums.
It is torn ….weak.
Spirit shorn … flees …
life’s misery
with no heartbeat.
Arms now empty
lack empathy
without heartbeat.
Laid down to rest …
will all the blessed …
I did my best,
withstood the test.
Living was stressed …
having two heart beats.
All born will die.
For me … don’t cry
let your heartbeat.
Know you were loved
gift from above
held my own … shoved.

Although we miss those that have gone before us, we should each be grateful for the memories we are allowed to hold to.
