Diamonds, emeralds and sapphires
cannot compare in brilliance
to tears of happiness that fall
as crystals of a sincere love.
Dazzling, illuminating,
they enchant as they dance and swirl,
icing on the cake of feelings,
sharing emotion, devotion.
May shimmering, glimmering gems
forever be shared between us.
Like a circle on the left hand,
they help us bind together, love.
Who cares what others think of us--
shared emotions are the real trust--
if we’re to be one forever?
Wouldn’t you rather dazzle me,
than put a sparkle on my hand?
Whatever we do, let us share
everything that we are feeling . . .
even if our rage is reeling.
Please let your precious tears cascade.
I’d rather share tears than rampage.
When the tears are too long damned, dry,
it’s sometimes hard to love again.
May the treasure of your teardrops
forever fall . . . on my shoulder . . .
and may mine only fall on you.
I gasp at your truth, Sandra. You always write wonderful poetry. "May the treasure of your teardrops forever fall... on my shoulder... and may mine only fall on you." Great ending!

This is so true. I can't remember the last time I cried.
