Some folks require a tad more compassion than others.

Going home in the evening’
Reclining in my old chair
I want no one around me
My wife sits “over there”
I snooze between my comments
But then I’m talkin’ to thin air
My deaf spouse nods agreement
Cursing I rise and hurl her papers down the hall
I get no satisfaction, talkin’ to the wall

A passing chick, outstanding breasts
Fully merits every praise
A broken old hag, my wife
Knives my spirit with her gaze
Surely she hear my compliments
Despite living in a haze
Her deafness makes me angry
She talks too much; she rarely ‘listens’ at all
It makes me aggravated, talkin’ to the wall

You’d think me rude to mention
All the changes she should make
She don’t deserve my attention
Can’t e’en make me stay awake
She ignores every comment
If she heard, you’d think she’d care!
My deaf wife nods agreement
I curse and angrily hurl her screaming down the hall
Next in line, step UP! I’m done talkin’ to the wall
