Sleep dear earth.... in comfort rest Hold your children...close to breast Sleep 'neath blanket purest white Pull your cover...snug and tight
Sleep and dream....while life adapts Tranquil mother.....softly nap Birth awaits....your open eye Air is moved...with watchful sighs
Restful gain....a strength to bring Life thru winter...into spring All our claims upon this plane Take their seed...in chill's domain

Anita this is a fabulous depiction of rebirth from Winter's seed as Spring approaches. This gem is written with poetic perfection in every line with impeccable rythm and rhyme. Stupendous!

Such beautiful imagery my friend, takes the mind on a journey through a winter wonderland. Divine write! Enjoyed this very much, beautiful picture you've posted and a beautiful picture within the mind lingers from your words!

Oh, the image complementing this poem takes me back to familiar winter sights viewed from the window of the cottage where I once lived (sigh).
The earth (at least our side of the bed)rests beneath the starch white sheet of winter, leaps up at the first crack of spring, slips into its summer gown and after a quick shower beneath the suns rays -glows!
I'm tempted to quote that great philosophor, Bambi, but I must refrain.
What a compelling all round picture this domain evokes. .
There is a very nice flow to you poem, Anita; rhyme and rhythm. Your verses are inspiring and the image nicely complements the whole offering. Thank you. Love and peace to you,
I love your comparative theme of peaceful rest and sleep of nature under winter's covers as compared to the human need for fire and blankets and warmth in their repose, Anita. Brrrrr does this take me back to those New England winters and an abundanvce of snow we rarely see here in Tennessee.

It is always an indeed pleasure to read such fine well written artistic work. I love coming out to my favorite den where you all inspire me so much every day. What I read share and know is such a wonderful view. Stay focused and always write on.
Wonderful. Beautifully expressed example of how the climate affects Mother Earth. Spring is just around the corner, It will be great to see the awakening.
God Bless,

THIS. Is. GORGEOUS!! Lady A, you've penned a scene many are experiencing as of late. If winter were like this, I'm sure many wouldn't complain...beautiful. One of your best!!

Send some of that beauty our way: we're under the gun for severe storms *ICK* I hate this time of year
What a marvelous piece! Stirring,it moved my soul and really spoke to me. I love the thought of Mother Earth in silent slumber, as she waits for the dawn of spring.

They truly do, but I also truly hope the Maiden of Spring gets here very soon.
