The mind is a powerful tool and in all things used to judge for what we see and know often through our own experiences... The mind can fool us... ~Lily of Lough Neagh~

Poem Artwork

Held in the mind of the beholder
Know yourself and thee be sober
Reality is of those unknown
let naught our mind undo be sewn

For what is seen becomes our own
Dispell believe we all atone
let naught your heart to itself groan
and nary be to throw the stone

Creative point of view can take
but nary please make no mistake
Be goddess, imp or fairy sake
With prose and words can only shake

For how doth a child to view the rain
Be for the growth or heavens pain
Or when the world becomes so still
For a nights sleep or sun hath chilled

Aloft in mind we sit to wonder
stars of ice or lights up yonder
Take thee man to word as thunder
Careful now or ye do plunder

Choose thee thoughts most carefully
Beyond the prose so artfully
For they may hold a melody
'Tis up to thee an absorbancy

Oh, Carol, the mind can fool us...hallucinations, and making up our mind before knowing all of the facts, etc. A top ten for sure!

Love,

Deborah

Beautifully and wisely written. Too bad I am so rash and unwilling to choose my thoughts carefully before expression. For that, I accept my fate.

We all walk in that same trap from time to time, making judgments without knowing any background or what is worse depending on our mood and losing sight of objectivity.
This is a very good eye opener Carol, a lot to think about

We need to learn how to be objective. We need to step outside of ourselves and yes much can be left to interpretation. Excellent write giving us all something to ponder.

to see what is for what it is and not what we want it to be, yes that would be something to be able to accomplish and be aware of it

There is so much in ingest here it is mind-blogging, Carol. You have artfully and creatively sewn the fruits of deceit of the mind throughout in these six verses of skillful expose. A warning to beware how the mind can, and does, wander into unfamiliar territory and brings us along with it as we see something for what it is, but the mind causes it to be entirely something else.
