The Line

The offer of another drink, “No Thanks.”
My child may cry, but not because of spanks.
“I’ve too much change, you need to take some back.”
I rest in God, there’s nothing that I lack.

“I’m honored by your interest but I’m taken.”
If you’re afraid to hurt me you’re mistaken.
I follow in The Way that things must be
So do not change a thing because of me.

My life is not my own I’ve always known
And through the trials my faith has only grown,
And though I feel it most when life’s unfair
I would not trade with those who do not care.

When all is said and done, I’m in His hands…
The only One who ever understands.
This gift of grace, I’m His and He is mine
And so you’ll never see me cross the line.

You are on the good side of the line and god had nothing to do with it. Keep thinking good thoughts, my friend.
