The Night

Perhaps a trip to Heaven- night.

Under the blankets out of sight.

To feel the warmth that slowly grows

Right from my head down to my toes.

The pillow gently holds my head-

The rest, so happy in this bed.

The silence, like a blanket too-

That covers me with thoughts of you.

Yes, I can dream that you- somewhere-

Are blessed by just how much I care-

Though I seem distant and unknown-

I make you loved, and not alone.

In all the magic ways I’ve learned-

I’ll cause the greatest love- you’ve earned-

To wash against your sacred shore-

And bless your life forevermore.

You may not ever know, ‘twas me-

That kissed your heart to set it free.

Good night dear heart, breathe deep, sleep well-

While I here love, but never tell.
