Subjective Theory Verification

I noticed something not quite right-
My pants becoming rather tight-
Just as our dryer was replaced.
So- shrinking pants? Expanding waste?

I’ll give 3 guesses what it was-
I thought it shrinkage just because
The dryer we just bought, of late,
Should not affect, at all, my weight.

But weight, for that we have a scale-
I’ll prove this shrinkage without fail.
The dryer’s new and hot, they shrink-
The pants must be at fault, I think.

I got the scale, I looked to see.
Alas, the problem was with me.
Although this makes no sense at all-
The dryer will not take the fall.
