Do I even have a prayer?
Simply talking, no one there?
I close my eyes to feel the love and smile.
For when I do, I see-
There can’t be even me.
The miracle is with me all the while.
Is there any way to peace?
Always looking for release-
Forgetful of the miracle we are.
I catch myself in time-
It’s always worth the clime.
To see the truth of how we’ve come so far.
Is there any way to win?
In a world so filled with sin?
The thinking leaves us hurting and confused.
But we can start again
To learn how to be men,
To feel the burn and keep the Gods amused.
Isn’t now the time to try?
Finding life before we die?
We all are on this journey- ‘till the end.
A grateful, humble way-
I’m breathing in this day-
When I have learned that life can be my friend.
I don't pray, because I shouldn't be asking for something for myself or others. The proof is in the doing. And like your prayer ends, we all have our journey we travel and its best that we make amends before we leave this life.
However, for some people, prayer produces endorphins in the brain that make one feel better, usually about a bad situation that seems out of control except by a higher order that has to be believed in order for it to work in the prayers' behalf. Once again, I reject that concept. There are plenty of endorphins in doing the right thing. Praying and then doing nothing, is akin to doing nothing.
