Wolf.

You have no clue, perhaps that’s just as well,
The power my canine senses bring to bear,
While all I am is trained upon your smell,
All that you are is present in the air.

Each fleeting thought and all your private dreams
Change chemistry your body then exudes,
I howl because I taste your primal screams
And pace when breezes bring brief interludes.

I’m lost in your intoxicating scents
And writhe in hunger you could not survive.
The bars may hold, I saw you through the fence,
But that’s the only reason you’re alive.

You came to me to seek some recollection,
You thought that nature might provide a home,
But in my eyes you’ll see no kind reflection,
Just hunger, and a mouth of fangs and foam.

Your scent has captured everything I feel,
No thoughts distract this instinct or desire,
You now exist to bring my life a meal,
And I, to bring you deep inside my fire.

You leave, and wise to heed your growing fear,
I breathe you in, each moment wanting more,
The keeper tries to feed this wolf a deer,
But in a flash I’ve leaped right through the door.

I’m on you in a second, just a blink,
And smell the terror knowing you are mine,
But as I grab and teeth begin to sink
You’ll get your wish, our lives will now combine.

Great write John! Does the wolf emulate humankind or does humankind emulate the wolf. I guess it all comes out the same. Bill Murray

Wow... I most likely am reading much deeper than need be.. this wolf is to me is much like the human race.. to consume.. to scare.. to run.. this is brilliant either way
