A Bird Feeder Tale

A bird feeder is a delight,
as birds come to feed,
it’s a constant fight,
chasing others who plead.

Chickadees share,
waiting on a branch,
they seem to care,
a little bird ranch.

Blue Jays scare the birds,
fighting for seed,
acting like turds,
their own selfish needs.

A squirrel scares the Jays,
chasing them all,
terrorizing the days,
as if he was ten feet tall.

Appears a fuzzy rat,
such a frightful scene,
birds no longer sat,
survival can be so mean.


PS: The end of the story told
if I may be so bold.

We killed the awful rat,
did it with a baseball bat,
the squirrel left after that,
and the birds came back.
