Glimpse Of An Interval In Nature

darkness blankets the light
restless creatures arise
bellies empty, must find...
morsels, necessary,
to survive...
orbs of yellow and red
scan the food chain, again,
silence...a target's been found
saliva dripping to the ground
flesh flies through the air
quiet...contentment begins,
circling perilous skies
eagle's ballet in flight
until dawn's early light...
