Well come along Sammy
t’was you wanted this,
to play in the garden
YOU said, with a hiss.
Now you’re complaining
"It’s too HOT I fear,
only MAD DOGS and Englishmen
would want to play here
and all the nice daisy’s
have now DISAPPEARED,
cos PA mowed the lawn
and some clover appeared.
You sit in the shade
of the laurel bush there,
with your pencils and paper
SEE – I know you don’t CARE!
My coat is too hot
‘cos I’ve got such long fur,
I’ll hide in the shrubbery
And I’m NOT going to purr.
What I really wanted
Now I can’t have,
‘cos we’re having a heatwave
that’s really too bad.
But I’ll take a raincheck
on the PROMISE you made,
when the heatwave is over
i’ll remind you, we NEVER played!
I’m going back home now
to our shady backyard,
to SULK and to ponder
just how to discard ..
Computers and suchlike
that take YOUR mind off ME
and that AuthorsDen website
where you ALWAYS seem to be"
Cute write Jackie!
