2050 A.D.
( The final War was over and the planet lay cold, silent and lifeless.)

The Lighthouse stood like a lone sentinel
On the windswept hill
Casting it's long, slanting shadow across the
Bright field of yellow daisies
The golden sun melted quickly below the
Horizon line as the purple/pink twilight sky began to fade

Beneath the lofty hill, the peaceful waves
lapped softly against the rugged rocks
With splashing sounds that echoed along the deserted beach
of sand ,driftwood.and human skeletons

Crafty night approached quietly with its cavalcade of
Twinkling stars in tow and wrapped its dark essence
Like a devouring serpent around the lonely lighthouse
Leaving only its faithful searchlight spinning and
Spinning like a carousel, round and round
in the still dark night

 Reviews of "The Lighthouse"

Very descriptive, Michael. You create the atmosphere of the place and the moment very effectively. You have a couple of typos with "it's" in verses three and thirteen. You mean the possessive "its" without the apostrophe. I make typos too and I appreciate when others point them out. Love and peace to you,

Regis
