The great man sat
in his wheel chair
And looked at the boys
playing football in
The play field below
And there he saw
the little boy sitting lonely
on the bench
once again
Looking on solemnly
at the game

This stirred his curiosity
So he sent his valet
to inquire about the boy
He was told
that the boy needed surgery
on a leg that went limp
but the boy’s parents
were too poor
to pay for the operation.

Later that day a check
was delivered
to the boy’s home
with a special request
from an anonymous donor

A few weeks later
the Great man
sat in his wheel chair
and saw the little boy
playing football
with his friends
a happy smile
on his face

The Great man smiled
and wiped
a tear from
his eye.
