(A reflection on the beauty of the Holiday Season, and the blessings of Nature.)

Holly and a Rose, true beauty is in those ~ winter has beckoned from golden, leafy throngs evergreen and berries to nestle near a sweeter song with perfume edging the breathy cold entering the new year with a garland to hold as gray light flickers beyond our reason a single image endures through this season - Holly and a Rose, true beauty is in those. © Vicky M. Holly and a rose seems most powerful to me because of the simple image. This is an image that my minds eye can completely envision. I can circle, touch, smell the combined items. a symbol to clutch, a reminder that the gray light will pass.

I believe we have holly here in Houston, but I haven't seen it. But we do have roses blooming in our front yard, pansies raising their little heads towards the sun in the backyardd and Christmas cactus in between that love the cold weather seldom seen.
