Written before the Afghan Conflict, still rings true today on many areas

WAR Or A Payer for PEACE.


War once again raises it’s ugly head,
Rhetoric reigns, bitter words are said,
Sabre rattling comes from nations around
Each one claiming their right to sound.

The drums of war, so loudly heard
Above the clamour for peace by those disturbed,
By the threat of death of many of all nations finest,
Their cries are scarcely heard, they seem the weakest.

Threat upon threat rings out upon the air,
Governments meet each adding a point of view to the affair,
Grand Councils argue the pro’s and con’s
While threats and counter threats go on and on.

What chance of Peace amidst all this ranting and shouting
What chance of logic being heard, while many are doubting
The causes argued, there seems no sense in great debate
When Presidents spread messages of Hate

I Pray for Peace, even at what seems to be last Hours
I Pray for Miracles to happen, somehow, that a voice may rouse,
From multitudes who want Peace to reign, stirring those,
Who strive for War,
To Look to God for peace evermore.
