Mans inhumanity to Man

Why-Oh-Lord

Why Oh Lord do the deeeds of senseless men,
Fill our hearts with pain and bring us grief again,
Why is it Lord that innocent ones have to bear the brunt,
Of the mad bombers cowardly act, the shooters rifle grunt.

What did they do Lord to deserve the fate of death?,
To have their lives ended so, to suffer wounded flesh,
Those who mourn can only cry,"Oh Lord, please tell us why,
Is there any reason to these crimes, why did they have to die?".

The zealots cry tis our revenge, because we`ve suffered so,
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, it has been from long ago.
The murderous onslaught of a man with a gun, on victims chosen at random,
Just shooting men, women and children, down ,shooting with wild abandon.

Time may eventually dim , the facts of these gross disasters,
Grief will pass and memories cloud in the passing hereafter,
But still we`ll stop and pause a while and take time to ponder,
Why Oh Why Dear Lord. Can we only wonder.?

Do we learn from these events, does our faith grow stronger,
As we mourn for those we`ve lost, can we go on longer?,
A nation grieves, becomes as one, together in our sorrow,
United we can pray and hope, for better things tomorrow.

It's not a question with a specific answer. We must have faith that He is taking in all our fears and worries, and if handed to Him, He will deal with them. Our role is to first, hand them to Him. Great write John. ~SH~

Know that God blesses both The Victor and The Defeated, with new life and a new day, and no one ever dies in vain.

John, this is a wonderful poem. In faith, we must accept what we don't understand. It is said, " within life there is a reason and without reason there is faith."
