WORDS OF LOVE

If you want a chance to get some more romance, you can beg, plead, or implore.
You can speak Français, parlez words of praise, and tell her “Je t’adore.”
You can call her “Dear,” whisper in her ear, but for words ten times as strong:
Say “I’m sorry,” “Please forgive me,” and “Honey, I was wrong.”
You can promise rings and other fancy things, offer her the moon and stars,
Give her accolades, sing her serenades, on softly strummed guitars.
But the sexiest words a man can say, more than any sweet love song,
Are “I’m sorry,” “Please forgive me,” and “Honey, I was wrong.”
You can read her rhymes of romantic times, all chivalrous and flowery,
Tell your Guinevere her Lancelot is here, even say “I love you” hourly.
You can fill her bonnet full of Shakespeare sonnet, sing her virtues loud and long.
Then say, “I’m sorry,” “Please forgive me,” and “Honey, I was wrong.”
That’s: “I’m sorry,” “Please forgive me,” and “Honey, I was wrong.”
