Maybe tomorrow he will come to ease her sorrow
and lend a helping hand to the one he once loved
mayhap the moon will cast a soothing light on her
and help her climb the stairs to heaven once again
I watch her suffer on her dying bed with rue
no comfort can I bring just words of letting go
the stars have flown their tails and sweet forgot
that there's a woman here in hunger for her day
The life she lived was zig-zag here and there
but fiercely she did love, with all her heart
Undoubtedly she longs for heaven nest
so why won't Peter grease the hinge and ope?
Perchance her breath a stretch away from death
is waiting for his old familiar arms of hope
the chandelier in God's love den is brimming
with light, she is ready Lord, escort, escort,
I watched my dad in the palliative care in the hospital for nine days before he would pass away from cancer. It was the most horrible and painful nine days to endure for him and for us all, so I know where your feelings are coming from. May God bless you all!
I watched my dad die a slow death from cancer. Towards the end, he more than ready to die. On one particularly bad night he said, "How long can one man live?" , and he lived another month, filled with agony and suffering before he finally passed away. Then I watched my mom die a slow death from dementia. At the end, I was the only person she remembered. So I can relate at least a little about what you're going through. Your poem was well written. I hope you and your mom both find peace.
A very loving, moving tribute to the slow passing away of your mother. It reminds me of my own mother who passed away thru Alzheimer's even before she died. I like your tongue and cheek approach here, it's death but that's life too somehow. Fine work. Poets find a way of expressing what moves them.
Oh boy. A moving piece Vienna, filled with strength, compassion, love, and hope. Her heart is secure, she has no fear. The picture speaks volumes to me. Especially in the spirit. Everything good to you and yours. Regards... r

I met Jerome on a busy city street in Baltimore, Maryland, when he was forty-five years old. On that particular day, I was out and about, enjoying a much-needed day off from work.
I wanted to purchase a sukiyaki sub. I parked my car in an area of
Eight e-books regarding Pathological Narcissism, relationships with abusive
narcissists and psychopaths, and the Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).
A well-written heartfelt poem!
