I suppose it would be kind of selfish of us to expect them to still keep watch. They have moved on - to a better place - let them enjoy it. Hopefully, one day we will join them. Beautiful, inspiring write Janet!
A beautiful poem Janet! I still prefer to think of my Dad as "sitting on my shoulder"....but I do hope he keeps occupied with other projects - keeping an eye on me would be a full-time job and I want him to ENJOY his richly deserved awards in heaven. Hugs.
Janet I just told something similar to someone. I of course agree with this. Why should we expect people who are in heaven to continue to suffer by wathing their loved ones on earth. That is some old made-up tradition that people hold onto for their own comfort. I surely don't intend to pass from this earth only to watch all of its problems from heaven! Heaven is freedom from the hell we go through here. Thanks for sharing!Excellent write ;-)
i have always heard that there is no sadness in heaven, so i have never believed our loved ones look down on us, they could not help but be sad at the state of the world today, as well as the every day personal strife we encounter. i prefer to believe the are above all that. nicely written poem
Beautifully articulated, Janet, and I think my thoughts probably square with yours... from what others have told me of their own experiences - living peeps rather than dead ones, I might add!! - if they have been "caught up in a vision of heaven" then certainly that is sooo consuming that nothing else is in the frame; on the other hand, like the story of Lazarus (rich man and poor man - although that is allegory), perhaps there is an ability to know and intervene "down here" once we have been "translated". But I think my gut feeling is that "involvement" is actually left to God and the myriad heavenly host, rather than to allow us lot to have our immortal fingers in the earthly pies! :)) (Not sure whether this is too Brit for you to get...?!)
