Poem Artwork

Emotions like a pendulum
Not knowing from whence they come from
Swing closer with each swipe they do
Seeing what's coming after you

You know it well it's coming fast
Next breath you take may be your last
Brocade on velvet on the floor
Stars that shine on forevermore

Creepily effective, Jane... ...most apt and timely methinks, considering our nearing proximity to Halloween. Love and best wishes,

It's probably safe to say we all have our own personal pendulum, even though some might delude themselves into thinking they can dodge the inevitable and enigmatic metaphor.

The swing of the pendulum has mesmerized me since Edgar Allen Poe. You do it justice.

I'm really glad that I don't experience those pendulums of emotion. Makes it a lot easier to get through life without them. ;-)

Emotions like a pendulum,
cut like a knife, and leave a mess.
This could surely apply to me,
when my wife is going through pms.

What an interesting poem, love the image of the pendulum and its connection wit the emotions. How very true, slice, slice. John

You give fair warning within the lines of this dark poem, Jane. I've taken notice and will act accordingly.
