No family have I got…

No family left for me,

All have gone to the great beyond,

Their memories are still there,

Most, unfortunately, are greatly unfair,

Nonetheless they are mine,

They will have to keep me till the end of my time…

In the coming seasons of the holidays,

I find it the hardest to deal with,

Not that my memories are any dream,

More like a nightmare making me scream,

Still, without family of some kind,

My holidays could be filled with a lot of frowns…L

I have places to go,

Friends who do invite,

Thanksgiving being my best,

The closest thing to family I have ever had,

My day therein filled with delight…J

But then comes Christmas,

Most families want that to be with their own,

Not even friends who are the closest,

Are invited to spend dinner in their homes,

So I just feel within, that this is the time I must atone,

Spending this particular holiday by myself,

Rufuz and I spending Christmas all alone…

You spend a lot of time in your head, Ed... but when Christmas comes, look for me in your heart. You'd be welcome at my house but we eat lutefisk and lefse... if you can handle that, c'mon over! YUM! (It might frighten poor Rufuz, though).

Oh, Eddie M... you rip the heartstrings right outta me with these poems of aloneness... if only I could reach through the screen and hug your big ol' head! Can't you go to Rene's for Christmas? or she come to you? hmmmmmmmmm? I'd worry less if that could happen. Why don't we all go to Eddie K's... I've heard he throws a great party! hehehe..

As we grow older we all come to this in our lives. A sad but beautifully written poem. My family members are fast fading but I treasure them dearly. Thanks for a lovely poem

Oh Ed I know what you say....rather be alone...but to feel alone within a family that sucks bigtime!!

Know to be alone does not mean you are lost...but the moment you get lost within a room filled with family....well that's a different situation!!

Keep you head hi and give Rufuz One BIG OLD hug...okay!!

At least we have our doggies around to cuddle...HUH?

Love Tinka

Holidays are the hardest when one is on their own. Next year I have thought that since I will be alone that I am going to find out where they serve food to those who don't have any and help out. HUGS.
