I miss ya Dad...

Poem Artwork

In a hospital bed before a procedure he did pass,

His brother in the hallway did feel his last,

I, his son, working not too far away,

Seems though when he died, I heard him say…

“My dearest son, we may not have gotten along,

But you are constantly in my thoughts like a song,

I have throughout my life, thought of you often,

I hope these thoughts transmitted to you will you soften,

My passing just a door, leading where I know not,

But know this son of mine, I will forever hear you speak,

I am sorry if maybe too much I did you critique,

I was just trying to help you along through life’s struggles ,

I wish now, my dearest boy, we could have learned to with each other,

                 SNUGGLE…”

Gone out of my life he did leave,

He and I got close his last seven years,

Wish we had more time to quell our fears,

But I was being me as was he,

We spoke often but of subjects of no worth,

We did not even speak of death,

I wish with this knowledge I could,

Restart my life at the time of my birth…

I love ya & miss ya, DAD…!

A very beautiful tribute to your Dad, a deeply touching write. They always seem to leave too soon, there always seems to be so much left to talk about.

Heart felt and sincere. My father passed last year. We had a similar relationship.

When relationships become about learning to be with each other, rarely do the two get time be together before its too late. How fortunte that you had seven years and can have the thoughts you expressed within this write. He miss's you too; I am sure :-)

Part of me today is with the fathers here who were given tributes from their kids. I am proud to say that everyone is on the same mission. We miss our Pops and we have only words left to convey how we truly feel. Your dad was awesome and he sure gave us a fine part of himself in you.
Happy Father's Day.

Ed, someday you will be with your father in spirit and you both will know each other completely with total love. That is Creator's way. He loves us completely and wants the same for us. Until then keep good thoughts going and be at ease. Thanks you for sharing!

Truly heartfelt, and written from deep within your heart and soul, my friend. Your father must be beaming right now.
