The Bank Robber...

No, this did not happen, just was at a bank today, like everyday on my job and a teller brought up a conversation regarding same...& I just had to make a poem out of it!

     “The Bank Robber”

The robber came in dressed in black,

No distinguishing marks other than his sack,

He carried a gun & wore a mask,

Nothing else scared me quite as fast.

He leapt over the counter with the ease of a gazelle,

And started to rifle open the drawers where the money was held,

Fearing for our lives, we lay crying and

                shaking on the floor.

Then with amazing speed, he made his escape & sprinted towards the door,

I got up the gumption to stand and call,

        911, I dialed & to my disbelief,

Got thru the first time and got connected,

        Much to my thankful relief!

(((ed)))

O, my--intense and compelling read

liked the line about calling 9-1-1...brought a flash memory to mind...my gramma once said, when dad told her he was calling 9-1-1, because her leg was turning black (due to a sudden blood clot), "you don't know the number" *smiles*

great write, ed--keep writing!

(((HUGS))) and love,

karla. :)

:-) Glad you weren't there on the day the bank got robbed; too bad you weren't, coz you could have had RUFUZ with you, and he could've gotten the bank robber! (SIC' EM, BOY! SIC' EM! GOOOOD BOY! GOOD DOGGIE!! YAY, RUFUZ SAVES THE DAY! RUFUZ IS A HERO!) A good write about a scary situation that can catch anyone by surprise or by unawares! Well done! (((HUGS))) and much love, your Texas friend, Karen Lynn. :D
