tromping through the National Park.
Came acoss a sign that said
"Please do not feed the animals."
The U.S. Department of the Interior says...
"The animals will grow dependent on the handouts
and then will never learn to take care of themselves."
Oh!
Meanwhile...
over at the U.S. Department of Agriculture
they proudly report that they
distribute free meals and food stamps
to over 46 million people on an annual basis.
Oh?
Poor animals have to fend for themselves.
But then...
they don't vote.
I'd like you to think about this: first, please read Ed Phillips's fine article today and some of his other articles on the subject of wealth inequality.
You seem to have a great disdain for food stamps. The strong outcry against government programs and the defunding of them, is leading to a crisis. The number of people who don't earn enough to pay for the food that they need is growing every day as wealth flows from the majority of Americans to the very wealthy and nobody seems to notice it. My mother, who is 90, had to get food stamps before she entered welfare supported assisted-living. The elderly are being the hardest hit as these programs are reduced.
What would the thinking impaired conservative leaders do with all of the people sliding into poverty? Have them on the streets begging? Relying on the vagaries of "2000 points of light?"
The idea that people can "pull up by their bootstraps and fend for themselves," won't cut it in our overpopulated cities where people either have to have a job or some income just to keep their heads above water as their wealth goes to the rich and famous.
Funny how they think that everyone would have a lot of leftover food to feed the animals. The "handouts" you've mentioned are just so funny! Yup! People vote, animals don't.
