Walked the path over once again
On the street I lived long time ago
The air was familiar, also the sounds around
Remind me of the times of a distant past
Pondered to think of what we spoke
When hand in hand we wandered past,
In shades of dim lit lamps we sat
Stiff frilled caps on waiters waved
The attendants in a line all white
Part take silently to dainty treat
The sweet aroma of beans brewed
Coffee on white table clothes laundered afresh
From fountains clear cool waters gush
The sound of gurgling water stream
Only to be drowned like a dream
To the ways, the tantrums of the youth
It echoes in ears, so distinct and clear
But like paper boats in streams the dreams were torn
Though I knew not what it is to be then…
To love and to part with a broken heart!
But memories stir of that distant past
Once again when I walk the path
