Poem Artwork

Bhedaghat  Waterfall, M P,India during monsoon

Snaking  below  the bare brown trees

The river running wild, bouncing off to glory

Road on the other side stretching into the  open

 Waters crackle, sound so  livid

 Sparkle  cold but shine aloud

Dancing drunk on the rocks  hard

 Quick its thrust and fall

At times to spring up  and tumble down

On earth’s bosom   divine.

The water fair  is  there to stay

With dancing droplets in the air

What a mighty stunt is in display

The river cascading down , then the fall

Many a meter down full length

The broad block of water flinging down

 Like a burst from above

When the monsoon arrives each year then

The waters swell, rise , make haste

A fury and a lot of noise

The bounce, the swirl, the brazen dance is more

As if  on  errand  move

What   a big job in  hand now

Its pounding heard far to often

While the onward march is on

Never been in a monsoon, and I guess it takes some getting used to. Like the people in the far north here in the states during winter, brutal weather to deal with, but for the most part they stand their ground.

I've been caught in several deluges during the monsoon season and got drenched to the bone. A wet tale told by India's superb storyteller. Kudos,

Waterfalls are indeed magical places worthy of poetry like this. You were very descriptive and enlightening of the magical properties this mighty monsoon fed spectacle provides.

Mighty powerful! I think perhaps the author has seen this spectacular force and been in its presence to write so knowledgeable about it. The title "Waterfall" caught my eye, and I wanted to stop in and support your den, JK. Happy New Year!
