The tesu flowers of the palash tree so called are used to make colors which is used during the grand color festival of Holi in North of India. where these trees are widely found. Radha reminicences playing Holi with Krishna.

Poem Artwork

Color me red with your red ink stain

On my body , you splurge  your spread

Within soft cleavage of my bosom you  stain

A split of a second is all it takes  to shower

To be smeared with paint , and a  name forever

In the game of Holi festival fevor each year

The colors of love once again for me  the play

The pranks you played, the immature image of yours

You take my desires to a crescendo ,

The music is sweet, I hear  from yonder the beats

It is  the time of  youth ,once more I am there

The  glory of the flowers, the stain of its color

Color me red   and will you  once again  be my love?

For the memory of those days O! Krishna

Where I am mesmeraised by the passion of  youth.

And you the flowers are sole witness to my ordeal

Your stain so bright and flowers just sweet

Color me red with your burning  love

O Flame of the forest now how you beckon me

So  I be lost in your vast colors

To watch you bloom  and hang on boughs low

Widespread in forests, a  carpet of red velvet flow

A scene   so captivating  every   spring

I splurge in the beauty of this seasonal wonder

As I go down the memeory lane with my Krishna!

How I LOVE your words Roseline! They bring me alive with their colour and passion, and wistful remembrance....
I too have 'splurged' in your evocative descriptions...
Wonderful writing....

The flowery wealth of India, while foreign to us on the other side of the world are so spectacular as to bring about festivals like those you write about. What a wondrous sight it must be and what a wondrous feeling it must be to be in love and so anointed by the colorful stain of youth.

Ahhh . . . The passion of remembered youth comes alive with the paint (red) among others. Wonderfully done . . .
