This is dedicated to Pfc. Patrick Miller,Shoshana Johnson, and the many other overlooked heroes in past and present war.

To save the lives of many
and never brag or flaunt
that is the measure of a true hero.

To know within yourself
what you did was right
unselfish
and true .
To know this and not demand respect
To let others take more credit than they are due.
That is what is so admirable about you.

To stand tall
Let pride’s warmth engulf you
Never have to bow your head in shame,
Knowing you were the real soldier that held strong.
That is the true reward.

No matter how many books are sold,
How many mini-series or movies air,
Despite the numerous articles that don’t mention your name
Your actions were seen
Your battle cries were heard.
You may not be a celebrity
But you are my hero.
You are a hero to all who seek the truth,
not the hype.

Let the others bask in the limelight
It will eventually fade
And they will be all but forgotten
But to those whose lives you saved
Your name will carry on for generations to come.
