Possessing the knowledge of an ant,

As I walk through the labyrinth of life.

Unlike an ant, I have not their sense,

Or ability to circumnavigate an obsticle.

I do my best, in a confused state,

That seems to be my habitat.

Failing to read the signs of guidance,

As I speed along my merry way.

There is no radar I can check,

To keep me on the straight and narrow.

An ant has keener instincts than I,

And knows not frustation in life.

How can I say I possess

The knowledge an ant was given?

Seems ludicrous to aspire

To the heights an ant has gained.

Not the ants that I've observed. They never run in a straight path toward their destination. They keep backtracking and running about, helter-skelter, like a chicken with its head cut off. That's why Thoreau, after observing ants, determined they behave very similar to the businessman in his small community. As a poet, your course is much truer then that.

I admire how ants in a society work together.

Love ya!

Labyrinth~love this word. The verses so richly written
of thought and precise heights. Well, an ant has it's
own labyrinth of life. As one together in this world.
