Having fun with words

 OXYMORONS

It happened accidently on purpose.

A new tradition was born.

It was a calculated risk,

But an oxymoron poem took form.

It was an original copy,

Considered to be a real fake.

It was a genuine imatition,

And a deliberate mistake.

It was terribly cute,

And pretty ugly too.

It had a serious sense of humor.

It was almost exactly true .

Questions were asked in random order,

Like how do you store display?

What do you do on Park Drive?

How do you climb down and come away?

Is a black light for night?

Can you get wet from sun showers?

Is almost perfect a near miss?

Can a hero have mighty weak powers?

Can you get cut on sharp curves?

Can you make a fine mess?

If you are all alone,

Can you be barely dressed?

Can you swing a ball club?

Is there anything you don’t do?

Can a statement be truly false?

Is an instant classic new?

Do additional reductions,

Lead to increasing losses?

Do you use hard water for a stiff drink?

Are there any least favorite bosses?

Is it a definite possibility?

Would you prefer plastic glass?

Is it a cruel joke to have bad goods?

How long will clean dirt last?

Can you press release?

Is a freezer burn icy hot?

Is a head butt the front end?

Will a green orange rot?

Can a person sleep walk,

At a very slow speed?

Does an anxious patient need critical praise?

Is doing nothing a great deed?

Where do you enter a drive-in exit?

How do you feel numb?

Was the easy problem hardly easy?

Are even odds an equal sum?

Can you be a relative stranger?

How many are in one pair?

Can it be altogether separate?

Is a required elective fair?

Can you turn up missing?

Where do you find old news?

If the only choice is nothing much,

What would a hopeless optimist choose?

This has been a lengthy brief,

Of the oxymoron kind.

Contradictory and loosely packed,

Oxymorons are fun to find.

Don't know about that dysfunctional brain . . . Maybe, just maybe, slightly warped, but in a good way. Eh . . . Loved this.

Holy health hazards! This is darkly brilliant. Only a dysfunctional brain could have thunk up such an array of thoughtful, nonsensical terms in a perfect storm of genius wordplay. Well done and promising.
