When it rains, make mud pies.

 MUD PIES

Muddy Mike’s Mud pies,

Has the best mud pies around.

Every pie is made by hand,

Using only the freshest of ground up ground.

Try their Yucky Muck,

Or dig into a Dirty Delight.

A Muddy Mike’s mud pie goes great,

Anytime, day or night.

Their mud pies are rich and loamy,

With flavors that can’t be beat.

They even offer earthworms,

For those who’d like a little meat.

Muddy Mike’s mud pies,

Will fill the deepest pit.

Ask for the Sandy,

If you want texture and grit.

At Muddy Mike’s you can get down and dirty,

And really muck it up.

If you like it soupy,

Just ask for their Mud In A Cup.

Muddy Mike’s  mud pies are all natural,

And organically fortified.

You can wash it all down with a Slurry,

Or their signature drink, The Mudslide.

People will trudge through sludge,

To get a Muddy Mike’s mud pie.

When Muddy Mike’s has a sale,

There’s always a large runoff to buy.

Muddy Mike’s mud pies are fun to eat,

One bite and you’ll be soiled.

You’ll  become a "Muddy Buddy,"

Completely caked and spoiled.

Muddy Mike’s is the place to go,

When you’re looking for that special desert.

Their mud pies win by a landslide,

And remember… a little dirt doesn’t hurt.

Reminds me of the good old days when we played in the mud and not on the internet.

Delightfully concocted, Michael. Your verses remind me of my childhood. We did not have a lot of toys but we came up with our own creative "playthings" and mud was certainly high on the list. Thank you for sharing. Love and peace to you,

Regis.

You're so right! A little dirt never hurt anybody. In this dirty, nasty poem, you seem to be the champion of mudslinging. And you left me wondering… Does grinding up ground leave you with grounds after your teeth are ground to the bone?

Loved the poem. One of the best yet!
But I can only relate it to the sandbox pit.
That was my favorite place to go.
When everyone else was on the swings, I preferred sand
I guess it reminded me of the beach, now is that just GRAND.

I know, I cannot be helped. But I have FUN!

We didn't make mud pies because there was very little mud on an island. We made sugary sand with clean white (or a little gray) soft sand. It got really hot in summer with the sun, so the sugar was cooked. The best to get was the stuff that had attached itself to the bodies of us kids who ran into the cold ocean and ran back and jumped down into the hot sand & rolling around in it...We all have our childhood memories, thanks for bring mine back to the light of my day...:) -e-

Your words bring back fun memories of making, not mud pies, but dice. We would put the indentations on them and paint them. Then, we'd set up a stand and sell them. You stir the child in me still, Michael! I love your style!

Love ya!
