A poem I wrote for my grandson.

 FEARLESS

I was never afraid of anything.

I didn’t know the meaning of fear.

I was known for my courage.

I’d make trouble disappear.

Always looking for adventure,

I was a bronc busting buckaroo.

I wrestled bears in the circus.

I tamed lions at the zoo.

I swam in the deepest oceans.

It was never a big deal.

I went face to face with a shark,

And lassoed him with an electric eel.

Nothing ever frightened me,

Until the day I made my sister mad.

Her face turned forty shades of red,

And I knew if I didn’t run, I was had.

I’m not afraid to tell you,

For the first time I knew fear.

My sister was coming after me,

Her bad intentions were clear.

I found a place to hide,

And that’s where I stayed.

A mad sister is scary,

A good reason to be afraid.

I was never afraid of anything.

I liked to live dangerously.

But facing my mad sister,

That’s too dangerous for me.

Bravado is for the imagination, and, then, there's reality, always closer to home. Nice, gentle job of getting the point across, Michael.

We were three brothers and two sisters, and yes, the sisters could be formidable, even to this day. Enjoyed this very much, Michael, very insightful. John

At first I thought you were pumping yourself up as a grandfather with fantastical tales of your ability. But then, the tide changed and I realize you were trying to instill a bit of humility when it comes to dealing with the opposite sex--or else!

Great try… I hope it worked.

I never had a sister but had an older brother. I never feared him. He was my hero. My father, on the other hand, scared me. He never raised a hand at me but still...

LOL!!! Having had three older brothers this made me laugh! They used to bribe me to "shut up"!! They did not like to make me mad! I'm sure this poem will be appreciated. Frame it!!

Love ya!

Ahhh . . . Never had a sister, so I know not the wrath of one. Maybe that was why I grew into a man who never feared any one in my journeys . . . Now earthquakes are another matter. I have been in three of them. Thank goodness all three wasn't of the very destructive nature. Still, when you live on the third floor of an apartment complex and the dishes are flung from the cupboard. table lamps are crashing to the floor, and anything else which wasn't secured. Now THAT is flat out scary.
