SHADOW SHARKS

I was in my bed,

About to fall asleep,

When suddenly I noticed,

The shadows starting to creep.

Across the wall they crawled,

Taking on ominous shapes.

I sensed an eerie presence,

Something was moving the drapes.

The shadows moved over me,

I was swimming in the dark.

I swear I could see the jaws,

Of the Great Shadow Shark.

I pulled the covers over my head,

And curled up into a ball.

I was sure I’d be eaten,

By the Shadow Sharks on the wall.

It was going to be a feeding frenzy,

With nothing left but bits of bone.

I could see the Headline News: Danger….

Shadow Sharks! Don’t sleep alone.

I gave out a cry of anguish,

As my impending doom neared.

Then my Mom turned on the lights,

And the Shadow Sharks disappeared.
