The spiders came to play.

 WEB OF DREAMS

The spiders love to play baseball,

And their team is the Web Famous Spinners.

Their teammates all stick together,

Making the arachnids consistent winners.

They play on their Web of Dreams,

It’s where they spun their mark.

They’re known as the Silk Sluggers,

Hitting balls out of the park.

Runners are trapped with ease,

Just like they were prey.

And the way they cover the bases,

There’s no chance of a squeeze play.

Their starting pitcher is called Black Widow,

For the way she faces batters down.

Batters are afraid of being eaten,

When Black Widow takes the mound.

Using an eight legged rotation,

Their manager is web wise.

And every player on the team,

Is good at catching flies.

I've seen those little balls on all the bases. I know they are tightly wound with silky strands, but it's what's inside I've found. Squishy shoofly pie ain't no baseball high.
